Holiday Trivia Party Games can be lots of fun unless Patty who is known as Mrs. Christmas wins every year or Joe who can recite "A Christmas Story" or a "Charlie Brown Christmas" plays because if they do then they are a shoe in to win and others figure why both.
How do you get around this Holiday dilemma at your Holiday party or gathering?
One easy way to neutralize Patty Christmas and Remote Control Joe is make your Christmas Trivia Games a Team Relay Race!
So randomly divide up your group into 2 or more teams. I would say teams of 4 to 6 people work best. Then pull out a trivia game like Christmas Song Lyrics.
Now explain that each team will be given a sheet of Christmas Trivia or Holiday Match Games to complete, however a team member can only answer 1 question and then it on to the next person to complete or answer the task on the sheet.
Note: Other team member can't share answers, point to answers or assist other members when it is their turn.
One way to ensure that team member aren't cheating is to place the Trivia Games on a table at the front of the room and have team member come to the table to take their turn. Then once they answer they leave the table and tag the next person on their team and the team can be lined up and ready to go but can't be hovering around the quiz.
Note that Team Members can answer "any" Christmas trivia question on the sheet, so they don't have to go in order. They just can't answer more than one per term and as fewer and fewer questions are left to answer it gets harder and harder to answer the trivia questions.
Make things a little interesting by adding a one or two pass buttons to the game, this way if someone doesn't know they can pass. While that is a nice idea it is much more fun to watch them sweat it out or just make up an answer!
Here are some Christmas Trivia Games you can use.
Twas The Night Before Christmas - Harder than it Sounds
Reindeer Games - Match Reindeer Trivia fun for Families
Christmas Riddle Me This! - This is a Tough One
Toys and Games Decade Challenge! - Interesting Toy History Challenge
Christmas Movie Characters - Looks Simple but a Challenge too!

If you liked 2 or more of the above Christmas Trivia Games for your Office then consider the Deluxe Christmas & New Year's Games Collection where you get 75 different party games and activities for all ages.
We found some additional Holiday Trivia Games, but these are focused on very specific topics and maybe not work well at the Holiday Office party, but could be just right for your Christmas party. These are not part of the Game Collection noted above.

Rice Krispie Holiday Party Snack Ideas
I was watching Cupcake Wars last night and was thinking wow, those cupcakes are a lot of work, so when a Rice Krispies commercial aired I thought that would be easier and more fun to work with, albeit messier too.
So today I searched the web for ideas to help inspire you to make fun Holiday Rice Krispie treats for your kids Holiday party next week without spending all weekend in the kitchen.
Here are 3 Rice Krispie Holiday ideas to get you started.
Rice Krispie Presents - Cut into squares, add icing to look like ribbons and bows.
Rice Krispie Ornaments are a little harder. Form in the shape of a ball, decorate with icing and even M&M's pushed into sides of Rice Krispie ball, top is made with red rope licorice and mini marshmallows.
Rice Krispie Snowman - The hardest in the group. Chocolate scarf, mini chocolate morsels used for eyes and mouth, peppermint candy for hat, and assorted candies or cookie decorations can be used for nose, buttons and hat topper.
We found these items online, but Rice Krispies web site has a few more ideas but some of those look like time bandits to me.
As you plan your Holiday parties, events and gatherings, we at Party Game Ideas want to wish you Happy Holidays.
And let you know that if you need fun, creative and different Christmas and Holiday Party Games and Activities please visit us. We offer 500 Party Game Ideas for Holidays, Birthdays, Baby Showers and other special occasions.

Beer Tasting or Wine Exchange Party a Perfect Holiday Idea for Friends
Want to do something with friends but don't want all the pressure of a Gift Exchange or a giant holiday event then consider these two options.
Beer Tasting Party
This is a favorite among guys because they know what to do.

- Make sure to have plenty of ice to keep the beer cold, cups for drink and if possible create a beer list of everything brought where guests can note which beers they liked and which they would pass on.
- Set up stations where guests can sample the beer 3 to 4 oz. each (not take a bottle) and note who brought each beer, so guests can ask questions about the beer.
- Last at the end of the night, divide up any remaining beer and have guests take home a bottle or two of their favorites.

Snow Themed Party Games for Kid's Holiday Party, but No Snow Needed
For some reason this year I seem to be on a Snow theme for Party Games. Three of the last four games I have written have included snow in one way or another.
Since none of the party games include real snow, it might just be that I am missing seeing the white stuff as we don't get any snow in Orlando. So I wanted to feature a few of our snow inspired party games and activities.
Snowflake Balloon Catch - I always enjoyed walking in the falling snow and catching snowflakes on my tongue but how can you replicate that sense of something slowly falling around you can catching it? Well I came up with Snowflake Balloon Catch an fun activity for kids that makes falling balloon fun. Check out Snowflake Balloon Catch.
Indoor Snowman Snowball Battle - I wanted party game with action, but one that wasn't dangerous or would destroy the house and one that would be fun for boys. The result was Snowman Snowball Battle using styrofoam balls as snowballs to knock pieces of the snowman on to the other teams side. I think it turned out pretty good but would imagine that some parents will turn this into a better game than I imagined. Read more about Snowman Snowball Battle
Snowball and Spoon Relay - Sometimes the best ideas are recycling classic games into Holiday games with just a few simple changes. Learn more about the Snowball and Spoon Relay
While these are new Snow related games we have more including:
Shoveling Snow, Snowball Soccer and Snowball Squishers, these are just a few of 50 Christmas Party Games that can be found on Party Game Ideas web site. For some reason I think I need to put together a build the snowman game to round out our snow inspired party games.
Happy Holidays

Holiday Trivia Games for The Office Party
This year add a little competition to your Holiday Christmas Party your own Holiday Trivia Game or these various trivia games we found online.
What's nice about Holiday Trivia Games is the you can play them several ways.
1. One person reads a question and then the first person to answer correctly wins a prize.
2. Each Person is given a Holiday Trivia Game and the person with the most correct wins.
3. Teams / Tables are given a Holiday Trivia Game and the Team that gets the most right within a time limit or the team to get them all right first wins.
But where do you start when getting your Holiday Trivia Game together for your office?
You can create your own set of trivia questions like:
1. What year did the first Charlie Brown Christmas Special air?
2. Do They Know It's Christmas Time was released in what year?
3. What company is credited for creating the modern day image of Santa Claus?
And then offer a blank space for the answer or list multiple choice answers. Our recommendation would be to use a blank space for teams of people and multiple choice if you make the questions really difficult. FYI - You can always make one or two fill in the blank tie breakers if needed.
Ideas for diy Holiday Trivia Games for the office would include Christmas Song Lyrics, Years that Movies, Songs or Cartoons were released, a Question of two concerning your own business (ie Year founded, How many employees celebrated the first Christmas, etc...), general Christmas trivia like how many Christmas trees are sold each year in the US and so forth.
Once you have your Holiday Trivia Game ideas for your Office Party then you need to research the questions and get the correct answers. This can take a little while but creating an original game with a great questions is worth it and be sure to have any history regarding the answers so that you can add a little story to each question. It makes it more fun and interesting.
If however you don't have time to come up with your own Holiday Office Trivia Game we found several that should keep your guests guessing and entertained and you don't have to do much other than purchase and print these games.

Christmas Party Games on a Budget! 10 Helpful Tips
So your Christmas Party is coming up and your in charge of party games, well there is no reason to spend a fortune to have a great time!
At Party Game Ideas we try to come up with creative fun games that can be enjoyed by all ages. While there is often some expense here are 10 Tips to help you keep your Christmas party game costs under wraps.
1. Use Your Current (or Borrow) Decorations & Holiday Items
Need items for a Holiday Scavenger Hunt or Eye Spy type game well look at your current items first before buying new. Also if you have a need, post what you are looking for on Facebook first and see if any friends can lend you items for your party game.
2. Make You Own Game Cards
Print out Charade or 20 Questions ideas on your computer and attach them to back of old Christmas Cards. It makes each card colorful and guests won't be able to see through the paper.
3. Decorate Empty Gift Boxes
Use the boxes for a Gift Stacking game or a toss game.
4. Use Printable Party Games
When you are in a rush, printable party games solve a lot of problems like researching questions and answers, finding clip art graphics and making it look professional. Plus for a couple bucks, you can have a wonderful game in minutes without leaving your home or office.
5. Create a Story to Go with Your Party Game
Adding a story and purpose behind a game makes it more interesting and fun. When we put together Find Santa's Reindeer, we make a video about how someone left the gate open and all of Santa's reindeer went out to enjoy the forest. We need your help to Find Santa's Reindeer so Santa can deliver presents this year. Since this was a family event, the kids got all excited to search and locate the missing reindeer and our friends still talk out that party game today.
6. Add Music
Whether you want to a Name that Christmas Carol, Complete the Carol or Christmas Corners Game adding music makes it more interesting and entertains guests even if they are no longer playing the game.
7. Add Ping Pong Balls
Ping Pong Balls are cheaper and help make for easy tossing games whether you are aiming for a present, Christmas stocking or landing it in the middle of a wreath! Plus they can be used over and over again.
8. Christmas Carols Titles and Lyrics
Take Christmas Carol titles and scramble up the letters and you have challenging game, start the first two lines of a Christmas song or holiday chorus and see if guests can correctly complete the lyrics or take titles of Christmas Carols and turn them into Christmas Carol Pictionary. The page has Christmas song lyrics.
9. Hide Holiday Items
People love finding things, so consider hiding Ornaments, Reindeer, Santa's Elves or eye spy items around the house or a room and see who find the most Holiday themed items. Use real items or pictures you print from your computer.
10. Add Silly Challenges to A Game
The standard Unwrap the Gift game involves passing the Gift and then unwrapping one layer and then passing it on. But when you add a silly challenge or a free lottery ticket, then the game becomes more interesting as you don't know whether you will do something silly or be rewarded with something fun. basically, you take a simple game to a memorable one with just a few slips of paper.
With a few simple steps you can create games that don't involve very much cost and in some cases cost you nothing!

Snowman Snowball Battle - A Safe Indoor Kids Party Game with No Snow Required
Inspiration for games comes in many forms and it seems odd that my latest game idea, Snowman Snowball Battle, came together while putting together a closet shoe organizer and watching a commercial involving throwing snowballs.
The idea is using a grid to sit styrofoam balls in the shape of a snowman and then using something else, 1 size smaller styrofoam balls, to knock pieces of the snowman on your opponents side.
In my mind it seemed easy, but in reality it takes some work to pull off but I think it could be a fun party game for kids that don't see snow. The light styrofoam balls offer a unique texture that seems more realistic and that fact that they aren't very dense means that you shouldn't have any accidents with things being broken either and I like that.
You will need to vacuum after this game, but you would after most parties anyways.
This Christmas party game, Snowman Snowball Battle, is good for kids from 5 - 10 years old and can be played in classrooms, living rooms or anywhere with space. In fact, adults can play this game too, because it is a target game and adults love a challenge.
While I often don't publish games until I have everything ready to go and multiple variations, I must admit I had some trouble solving all the challenges of this party game. So if you have any ideas to improve or variations to the game I included a comment box for your ideas. Game details for Snowman Snowball Battle.

Finding Frosty - A Christmas Scavenger Hunt Game for Kids
Having a Christmas party for kids that get excited to watch Frosty the Snowman? Then we've got a Holiday party game for your kids and you can even make the Snowman Melting Cookies we blogged about on Friday.
Well this game, Finding Frosty, is perfect for a snowman themed holiday party for kids as it takes the fun of knowing the lyrics to Frosty the Snowman and locating the hidden picture that matches each of the answers.
Plus you can decide how difficult or easy to make this game by hiding the pictures in plain site or hiding them throughout the house.
This makes a fun Holiday party game for kids and can be a fun activity at offices where you place a picture outside of each office door or cubicle and the kids can race around and find the corresponding picture.
You can play the Finding Frosty game as teams, individuals or as a fun afternoon activity on a snowy or rainy day, it is very adaptable and if you change up the hiding places you can play more than once.
Want to add a unique spin to the idea, then add a challenge to the few of the hidden pictures and call them roadblocks like they do in the amazing race. If you do this you'll have to station someone there to run the challenge. First person there gets to go first and if they succeed at the challenge then the get the picture, but if they miss they go to the end of the line until it's their turn again. I would suggest 2 - 3 challenges would make it a little more fun. You can get creative with a tossing challenge.

Melting Snowman Cookie a Fun Party Treat
My friend posted this photo on Facebook and I had to share, The Melting Snowman Cookie, such a cute idea for Holiday parties.
This would be perfect at a Holiday Cookie Exchange Party, but only 1 per guest, for a kids holiday party or any Christmas party for that matter.
From what I can tell it is white icing, a marshmallow with a dent in it's head (hmm, maybe use a warm spoon) and the additional icing or small candies to create the details.
Looks like a fun night making cookies.

After Halloween Sales - What To Buy & What To Avoid
Halloween is over and the after Halloween stores have started selling items up to 50% off to clearance merchandise, but is it a good deal?
Some Halloween costumes and decorations are worth picking up while others aren't worth buying at 75% off. Here are tips so you can make the right after Halloween sale purchases. While the local Halloween shops offer the biggest bang for the buck as they want to sell it all, online shops like BuyCostumes and Spirit Halloween are running sales too.
First rule review storage space, moving and budget:
1. If you buy an animated zombie prop, Halloween costume or party supplies do you have a place to store them? If the answer is yes then it is safe to shop, if the answer is no then stay home.
2. Do you plan to move in 2012? If yes, pass on after Halloween shopping and if no then you are good to go.
3. Review your Budget and realize that it is no savings if you can't afford it.
Next Basics vs Trendy Costumes
Worth It If your an adult picking up a basic witch, zombie, fireman or cheerleader costume makes sense as basics are timeless and if you like the costume you'll have something for next year or an annual costume party. The savings are going to be far greater right now and the selection large than anything you'll see for 10 months, so it can be Worth It to buy now.
Not Worth It Trendy "It" Costumes, Movie, tv and one year wonder costumes rise and fall each Halloween. So unless you have a special reason to buy Charlie Sheen or a Katie Perry costume pass on Halloween fads.
Kids Costumes
Worth It if the costumes double as dress up for the kids. Halloween costumes that get played with for weeks and months are great fun and if you can pick up a special costume for 50% Off it's worth it.
Not Worth It, buying next years Halloween costume for your kids now. Why? Unless you know what size they will be next year or what their favorite Superhero or cartoon character will be, the risk in buying now could result in wasted money and tantrums. So save the cash for next years Halloween costume until next year.
Halloween Party Supplies
Worth It, better quality runners and tablecloths provide the best value and can last years if not decades.
Might be Worth It Tableware and partyware these items are often themed and unless you know next years Halloween party theme you might just change your mind. However generic kids theme like Happy Pumpkins and Silly Monsters are pretty timeless and if you can find cups, plates, and accents to match it is worth saving now.
Outdoor Halloween Decorations
Worth It, if you do yard displays and want to add a few thing now is a great time to pick up extra tombstones, fences and hanging ghouls that blow in the wind.
Not Worth It - Large electronic animated Halloween props. First you need to check right away if the props work properly and then you have to properly store if in a safe place for a year. While in most cases nothing will go wrong, we just like knowing that it works for Halloween. If something does go wrong, you can't return it.
Other Halloween Items
Worth It
Items you will use and those you need. So if you know you will use the Halloween party favors or a Mummy window cover or your kids enjoy the idea of playing in a dungeon then pick up the scene setter and enjoy a spooky November.
Not Worth It
Food items, we prefer fresh over aged candy. Latex balloons and masks, stored properly the balloons and masks will be fine however dry heat or sun damage could ruin them plus the latex ages and gets weaker over time. And for all the rest of the Halloween items if you have to think where you might store it or just are sure about whether to buy it or not then just save your money and wait til next year.
Halloween is a wonderful holiday and now is a great time to pick up spooky bargain, but just make sure those purchases don't come back to haunt you next Halloween!
