Making Up Summer Games for Kids is Easier Than You Think

The kids are out of school and they need activities to keep them busy. Well there is one thing I have discovered over the years, kids don't need to entertained all the time. And when they aren't they often find ways to have fun, learn and entertain themselves.

One of the easiest ways to getting them to entertain themselves is to have them create or design games to play. While most people think that a game need to be highly structured sometimes the best games are simple ideas played out in a challenging manner.

Here are some quick ideas:
You have 3 buckets and a baseball or bean bag.
- Have the kids place the buckets at 5, 10 and 15 feet and score each bucket a point of 1, 2, or 3 points. First child to reach 50 points wins.

Buckets / large plastic cups and a sponge or small cup.
- Divide up into two teams, have 2 buckets filled with water, place the same sized cup on a chair 20 feet away. Kids must soak the sponge and then run to the cup and wring it out. First team to over flow the cup wins.

Basically, you can quickly challenge your kids to come up with ring tossing, aiming, relay or scavenger hunt type games that will keep them busy and active this summer.

And if you need some indoor activities you can always get some printable games, board games or printable games they can play.

However if you need more game ideas for events check out out Kids Party Games list with more than 70 different games for kids and over 400 total.
