I visited the Halloween store again yesterday, third time in the last 7 days and saw this Scarecrow sitting on the edge of a display.
I didn't think much of the Creepy Scarecrow other then it looked interesting and it was well put together, then I saw the Try Me Button and had to press it and to say the least I really liked this prop.
While the voice isn't strong in the video, the voice is creepy. The eyes light up and look sinister and he has a creepy sense about him. See the view below:
The Harvester or Creepy Scarecrow as I like to call would be good for:
Haunted Hayrides, Barn Dance, Halloween Square Dances, Wizard of Oz Theme, Children of the Corn themes, Haunted Harvests and in general on front porches on Halloween.
Wherever you place this Scarecrow just don't place him outside overnight or in the rain, if that were to happen the Scarecrow will come to life no more.

Haunted House Must Have, Animated Flying Bats
Planning a Haunted House for Halloween and need that something extra that doesn't cost a fortune?
Well these Animated Flying Bats are sure to cause a stir as they flutter overhead not only looking like they could be real bats but they actually flutter and sound like bats. Put three or four of them in a room, add additional bat accents, dim the lights, add eerie fog and you've got a creepy bat cave.
We first saw these bats at the Halloween store last year and learned that these bats tend to sell out quickly at the store but can be found online. While they are simple, they are also very cool.
Mix these bats with a drop down bat or two and add paper bats to the ceiling and you will create a creepy sea of movement as the paper bats move because the animated flying bats are causing the air to move and hence the paper bats will be moving too. Guests won't realize if there are 2 or 20 bats in your room and that is exactly what you want! Plus you can pick up 3 flying bats for under $25. (Note: Prices accurate at time of post, subject to change)
One thing to note is that these bats do take, AA batteries so are advice would be to make sure you have extra batteries on hand for your party so the bats remain animated. Learn more or purchase Animated Flying Bats online.

Successful Halloween Party Planning Tips
It is hard to believe that Fall officially starts this weekend, Halloween events and parties will be in full swing in less than a month.
If you are like me, I just haven't made any plans for Halloween this year but that doesn't mean it is to late to get started. Just set aside some time this weekend, follow these simple Halloween party planning tips and you'll be on your way to a Successful Halloween Party.
1. Select the Date for Your Halloween Party
This year Halloween falls on a Monday, which means that a few people might have small gatherings and dinner parties on October 31st, but most Halloween parties will take place on October 28th & 29th with early birds holding their parties on the 22nd of October. So review your calendar and decide which date is best for you.
2. Determine Costume Party or Halloween Theme Party
While a general Halloween costume party is fun, sometimes doing a theme party adds that special something to your Halloween party. Need ideas then check out our Halloween Party Ideas page to get you started. Another fun idea for smaller groups is to do a Halloween murder mystery, which is perfect for dinner parties.
3. Set a Party Budget
In this day and age it is important to set a realistic budget and stick to it.
Invitations, Party Supplies, Decorations, Costumes and Food. Most people know that hosting a party can be expensive and if your budget is tight consider borrowing Halloween decorations or props from friends, ask guests to bring a haunted snack or finger food to your event.
4. Send out Halloween Party Invitations
I'm a little late on this one but Halloween Invitations should go out between now and October7th. The latest formal invitations should go out would be October 12th. Guests then should be requested to RSVP by October 20th or at least 5 days prior to your event. Need invitations, check out some of our favorite Halloween invitations on our site.
5. Halloween Decorations
Your budget comes into play with your Halloween decorations, often I recommend have one dramatic item (like an animated Halloween props) or a scene as a centerpiece and then balance it with creative accents that cost less but add interest. I really like scene setters, spooky bottle labels, butchers garland, stretchy cobwebs and those sort of things that set the mood and work as conversation starters.
6. Decide Your Halloween Costume
Hosting a Halloween party is pressure enough, so at least plan in advance to have your Halloween costume wrapped up by mid-October. Not sure where to start check out our Halloween costume favorites now.
7. Halloween Games or Costume Contest
Do you need games for 5, 10, 15 yr. olds or do you want to hold your own Halloween Costume Contest? Well good news there Party Game Ideas has over 50 Halloween party games for all ages, so check out our list and start planning for fun. Plus, if you are hold a costume contest it is important to define how guests will be judge, check out our How to Hold a Halloween Costume Contest page for more.
8. Plan Your Menu
Do you want spooky looking finger foods that look like real fingers, fun cookies with legs so they look like spiders, a ghoul throwing up salsa for your chip and dip? Often the food doesn't have to be gourmet for a Halloween party but the display should be visually entertaining and sometimes even tongue and cheek. View Halloween tableware, creepy food molds and other Halloween party supplies.
9. Create a Checklist & Stay Organized
With so many things to do, you might want to spend a few minutes now and create a checklist and dates to get things done now. This would include scheduling a week by week to do list and involves confirming what you need to get done and what you need to purchase by when. I often find this helps me keep focus and not panic before the party.
10. Halloween Party Staging & Set Up
Once you have everything then it is time to put your scenes and Halloween decorations together and set them in the rooms where they will be located for the party. For some of my friends this can take days, but for most people a few hours of going through everything 3 or 4 days before the party allows you to make sure you have everything and allows you to still pick up anything that you forgot. Last is setting up for your party. We tend to set up 2 days in advance, then turn on the foggers and enjoy what we created.
Follow these Simple Halloween Party Tips and you should have a Successful Halloween Bash this year. Good Luck and Happy Halloween.

Growing up, we always made our Halloween costumes. Now I can't say I enjoyed creating a mask that involved placing strips of paper soaked in glue on my face, I will say we created great memories and unique Halloween masks. If you and your kids enjoy craft projects then consider making your own Halloween costume this year. Our advice is plan ahead, determine your supplies and plan to complete the project one week prior to Halloween. Why one week before Halloween? Well if the costume doesn't turn out as expected you can always purchase a costume.

The Lion King's Return Puts Simba and Nala on Halloween Costume List
Movie relaunches are hit or miss, but last weekend Disney brought back The Lion King in 3-D and a whole new group of kids got to see Simba and Nala like never before.
Between now and Halloween more than 5 million people will return to watch The Lion King and sure enough when those under the age of 5 are asked, "What do you want to be for Halloween?" they might respond "Simba" or "Nala."
However here is what you need to know, neither Disney planned for a Halloween push because relaunches are unpredictable. Example Toy Story was relaunched and only did $12 million total. To put this in perspective The Lion King did 2.5 times that in it's first weekend!
The result is that you are not going to find Lion King costumes in every Halloween shop but you will Captain America, Harry Potter and Angry Birds in most of them.
If you need a Simba or Nala Halloween costume, we found a few for you.
We found this cute Toddler Simba costume at the Disney Store
We also found Toddler / Child Costumes at Buy Costumes
We could find a child's Pumba costume but did find an interesting Pumba adult mask, they also had adult Simba and Nala masks like this too.

Halloween Trees Help Create Haunted Forests for Halloween Parties
Looking to create a Haunted Forest, Spooky Woods or add mystery and suspense to any room or area well then this Haunted Tree and Stump Set are the perfect Halloween decorations.
Last year I was able to see these trees at a Spirit Halloween store and was surprised that they sold out of them before October 1st!
I learned from the Spirit Store Manager that people loved the trees because:
1. The are Lightweight and Easy to Move
2. With Back Lighting and Mist they become Very Spooky
3. Drape Fake Cobwebs for an Eerie Effect
4. Makes a Spooky Entry
5. In Dim & Shadowy Light it does Look Like a Forest
6. Spooky but Not to Scary for Kids
7. Very Adaptable - Can be used for Halloween or Harvest Themes
These Haunted Trees would also be great accents around your food table, just add a few pumpkins and cornstalks to complete the look.
I could also see adding glow in the dark eyes to them to give the idea that they are alive and watching your guests. If you buy to sets and create a Spooky or Haunted Forest the kids will feel like the forest is alive and watching them. Our Halloween games Witch Hunt or Broomstick Witch Hunt could be enhanced using these Halloween Tree Props. You might also just want to create a Spooky Halloween Story and use the Haunted Trees as a path you can walk around.
Right now these Halloween Trees are in stock, but we can't guarantee they will be available through Halloween.
