Halloween Trends Emerging as Halloween Costume Sales Increase

Halloween is 10 weeks away!
Yes it is true Halloween is 10 weeks away and this week we have seen an increase in traffic to our Halloween games and Halloween costumes sales.

So what are the emerging trends for Halloween 2009?

Well, this year is shaping up to be an amazing Halloween with more costume options than we have had in years thanks to summer blockbusters, sad passings of music, tv and movie icons and colorful entertainers.

Summer Blockbusters equal Halloween fun and we expect to see!
X-man Wolverine selling best in kids and the adult premium costume
Star Trek - this is big for the 30 to 50 year old crowd
Transformers - The kids are loving these costumes
Harry Potter a favorite among boys and girls
Other costumes that are selling are GI Joe and Batman
We also expect to see a lot of Twilight inspired costumes too.

RIP
Also impacting Halloween 2009 is the loss of famous celebrities and directors. It has been a sad summer as we have lost Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Ed McMahon and John Hughes. Based on these events we predict that these Halloween costumes will be popular; Farrah costumes, Charlie's Angels, various Michael Jackson costumes including the white glove and groups of zombies who will break into dance every time the song Thriller is played.

To a lesser extent, we think creaive groups will dress up as characters who represent 80's movies like Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles and Breakfast Club in honor of John Hughes.

Kids Animated Movies Fizzled
While there were several popular animated movies this year, none have crossed over into Halloween costume success, so expect to see Power Rangers, Harry Potter, Scoobie Doo, Disney Fairies and Princesses, Witches and lots of Ghosts at your door.

Emerging Characters
Some new characters that will make it into some Halloween parties include the colorful Lady Gaga, Characters from The Hangover and reality tv personalities like Nicey Nash - Clean House, The Kardashians, Jon & Kate Plus 8, Project Runway and others.

Now with only, lol, yes only 10 weeks to go before Halloween you may want to start thinking about your costume, party and games for the kids.

The good news is that we've got Halloween costumes and Halloween games. Now all you have to do is decide whether or not you are going to have a Halloween party. FYI - Plan early because Halloween is on a Saturday night and all the big parties will be sending out save the date notices soon!
